He stood up to run over to Stacey to help her as a bullet found it's mark...Russ's ass. "I said cover me!" He yelled as he dropped two gunnmen and landed by Stacey. "Hey honey, miss me?"

She didn't say a word. But the look she gave could have broken glass. Her attention quickly turned back to the task at hand. As she fired another shot.

without warning steve stood up and howled out something that the other two could not make out. in his hands were to shoot guns, his weapons of choice, and he was firing at the shadow hugging attackers causing each of them to fall dead to the ground as steve ignored each and every bullet that whizzed past his head.
the last gunman threw his weapon down and hands up, claiming he surrendered. steve stopped firing and looked at the man, like he had never seen one before in his life. then raised the shoot gun and pulled the trigger sending a bullet between the mans eyes.
without a word he returned to the cover he was in. when russ and stacey made over to him after getting over the shock of what their partner just did they saw that he was ripping his shirt to patches and tending to a nasty bullet wound in alexendritta's stomach. he did not look up at his friends, didnt even make it seem like he knew they were there. all he did was hold her and keep the pressure on the wound and whispered that it would be all right.
to stacey and russ, it sounded like empty hollow words that were said to the dying to ease their passage.

Russ looked at Alexanditta and knew death was immante. The blood was dark and thick, an organ was puntred either her stomach or her kidney, either way she was doomed. "Steve, let's make her more comfortable.She dosen't have much more time." Stacey walked over to the attackers checking on who they were. Russ and Steve picked Alexandritta up and carried her to the back of the vehicle. Laying her out so she would be comfortable. Holding Steve's hand, she pulled Steve down and whispered some thing into his ear. He held her as she fell limp in his arms, the tears in his eyes told the story. "We should bury her. She deserves that." Russ said as he hugged Steve. "I'm so sorry my friend. Her death will not be in vain."

"no it will not," steve's voice was cold as his face looked like it had been set in stone. he picked up a short handle shovel that was amoung the tools in the back of the jeep then turned back to russ.
"see what the boss found," he instructed quietly and cold. russ started to offer to help and was stopped with a firm gaze, "ill do this," he looked down at the lifeless body, "she made me actually think about giving this work up."
russ put his hand on steve's shoulder. he turned back to face his friend, "if any of them are alive over there, russ, make them suffer." steve walked off and began digging a grave.

Russ smiled and said to his greiving friend, "No worries brother, I will make them wish they were never born." He went to go over to Stacey just as she yelled for him.

Russ smiled and shot three more villans and helped Steve grab her body and followed Stacey to the chopper.
