Mrs Potter was Mrs Dursley's sister, but they hadn't met for several years;
When was the last time Petunia saw Lily then? It was before Harry was born. Perhaps at a wedding? Their parents funeral perhaps? I wonder if they had a fight or something, maybe Petunia feels guilty for acting so horribly towards Lily now that she is dead.
The Tuesday Mr. Dursley went to work before Harry came:
None of them noticed a large tawny owl flutter past the window. (pg 8)
I wonder where that owl came from and where it was going? If it was so close to the window, then it must have been close to landing, otherwise it would have gone over the house, wouldn't it? Maybe it was a letter to Mrs. Figg? Or maybe it was a letter for Petunia? What do you think.
The Potters knew very well what he and Petunia thought about them and their kind ... He couldn't see how he and Petunia could get mixed up in anything that might be going on. Ye yawned and turned over. It couldn't affect them...
How very wrong he was. (pg 14)
How very wrong he was. (pg 14)
Now, the obvious thing is that they got stuck with Harry, but what if there is more? I don't think that the Dursley's will be safe from magic in the upcoming books. Perhaps other wizards, aside from Harry will come to their house. Perhaps death eaters will come, looking for Harry or something.
A man appeared on the corner the cat had been watching, appeared so suddenly and silently you'd have thought he'd just popped out of the ground. (pg 14)
Apparation is always accompanied by a small popping noise, since no such noise was mentioned here, how did Dumbledore get there? Is it somehow connected to the fact that he has a scar of the london underground on his knee? Or was he using an invisibility device?
'I would trust Hagrid with my life,' said Dumbledore. (pg 21)
Why? What has Hagrid done to earn such trust? We all know that he has a good heart, but he is also easily distracted. Wouldn't it have been wiser to send one of the other members of the order to fetch Harry? Why didn't Dumbledore get Harry himself?
'Yeah,' said Hagrid in a very muffled voice. 'I'd best get this bike away. G'night, Professor McGonagall - Professor Dumbledore, sir.'(pg 23)
Where does Sirius' moterbike go? Hagrid never did give it back to him, did he eventually sell it? Or does Hagrid still have it? I wonder if this will be used as a transportation device in the next book.
...he could make out a tabby cat slinking around the corner at the other end of the street. (pg 24)
Was that Professor McGonnagal? If so, where was she going? Why didn't she just apparate? If it wasn't her, then who/what was it? Perhaps one of Mrs. Figg's cats on patrol?
