I think that although Jully 7, 2007 would be a cool date for it to come out, but honestly I don't think that they will put the release of the book so close to the release of the movie.
I think that the book will be released sometime in the christmas season of 2007, probebly late November, early December, so as to make the most of the christmas rush, and to make for some fantastic christmas presents.
The next likely time I think is October 31st, because it is Halloween and a lot of imporant things happen on Halloween in the Harry Potter world.

I think it'll take longer than that. I'm looking for it in 2008.
I hope she doesn't sell out and hold it until Christmas, though... whatever year it comes out, overcommercializing it is a horrible idea.

Well, I think that she should release the book at a strategic time, and at a time when people can stay up all night reading the book and not get into trouble at school for it.
From the sounds of things, the book is going very well, and she has already released the book title.
Do you happen to recall when the title of book six was released and how long it was before the book itself was released? Because I don't think that it was over a year.
I still believe and hope that it will be released in 2007 at some point.
EDIT: According to Mugglenet, the title of book 6 was released on June 28, 2004, and according to Veritaserumthe book was released on July 16, 2005, so it was just a little bit more than a year. Therefore, I think that it is resonable to expect that it will be about a year until the time the 7th book is released.

JKRowling.com was updated today with news that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the seventh and final book in the series, will be released on July 21st, 2007, one week after the fifth movie hits theaters.
Scholastic has followed with a press release in which Lisa Holton, President of Scholastic Children's Books said: "We are thrilled to announce the publication date of the seventh installment in this remarkable series. We join J.K. Rowling's millions of readers - young and old, veterans and newcomers - in anticipating what lies ahead." You can read the full press release here.
The hardcover will sell for $34.99 with the deluxe edition fetching $65.00. These high prices could mean the book will be longer than any of the previous six.
Woohoo! earlier than we both thought!
