Tori went in line and grabbed a tray, she tapped her foot impatiently in line. Even if she wasn't going to eat, she could at least pretend to. It was finally her turn, she asked the lunch lady for just an apple. The lady handed her a bruised one, Tori took it and sat in an empty table. She played with it for a while and looked around. The human kids were noisy and constantly gossiping. Tori sighed and dropped her apple back on the tray.
She'd heard of the Cullens, Tori wondered where they were.
"New here? Sorry I don't see many new faces around here. My names is Galuwen. I know major mid-evil right. My parents were big at the renaissance fairs. I think they watched Lord of the rings a little bit too much. So you can just call me Gal. O' where are my mannors? What is your name?"
"I'm Tori, hi" she said with a smile
"Hey Tori," She replied. Sitting down beside her. Smiling her cheesy smile as she brushed her long red hair out of eyes. "What class do you have next? Do you know where is it? Maybe I can show you? I got lost my first day here."
It's biology" Tori said
"I hate biology. Explicitly after lunch. Poor you. I'll walk you to class. I have computer lab which is right down the hall. " Gal sat in silence for a moment, which was strange for her.
"Where did you move from Tori. Bet it was much nicer then here. I have to carry an umbrella in my backpack at all times."
"I came from Vancouver, it was rainy there too" Tori said
"I've never been to Canada." She replied. Waiting some more before specking again. She wonder were this conversation would go. On top of that she was worried. She hoped she could hear something of use. She had to stay with her.
"So why did you move here?"
"The city is too busy, especially in the summer, I figured Forks would be quieter" Tori explained.
It felt as if the bell had sounded at a dog track. As the race was on to get to everyones next class. Gal stood slowly as she scooped up her backpack. Looking around she realized the cafeteria was almost empty.
She needed to be alone with her, away from human eyes. But not now. There were still a few students as well as the staff. Who didn't care about keeping their students waiting.
"To biology we go." Gal said as she pointed at the left side door
Tori got up swiftly and quickly headed towards the door
Gal didn't say anything as they maneuvered their way through the students. Until they reached the class room door.
"Here you are. Hey can we hang out after school. We can meet in the parking lot. Maybe catch a movie in Port Angeles?"
Sure" Tori agreed with a smile, and then disappeared into biology
Tori patiently waited int the parking lot for Galuwen.
Glad that school day was over with, Gal made her way through the crowd. Math took too long and during computer lab no one seemed to notice her staring blankly at a black screen.
She spotted Tori as soon as she made it past the steps.
"Ready to leave this place for some fun. Hey do you mind if we take my car?" she said pointing to the 1969 cherry red corvette stingray parked among the others.
"Sure" Tori said with a smile.
Gal hit the accelerator as they flew through town. With Forks behind them she smiled. "Now. What is a vampire like yourself really doing at Forks High?" "What? Vampires? Have you lost your mind?" Tori lied, she knew this was going to happen sooner or later
"Please girl. I can smell you a mile away. More like honey almond. But I could be wrong. I try not to judge. Now tell me again why are you posing as a student?"
Her eyes stayed focused as she turned off the main road onto a smaller road that lead towards the camping and hiking trails. The weather was it's normal gray cover. Small drops of rain begain to fall from the sky just as they turned. There would only be a few hikers out today.
"You think I want to be accused of truancy?" Tori countered, she scooted towards the car door, gripping the handle tightly. She'd jump at just the right moment...
Gal stoped the car with a sigh, as she watched Tori leave. Her mind in over drive as she found a place off to the side to leave it.
Stepping into the woods made her feel more at home. She kept her pace slow. Weaving in and out the trees. Taking in all around her.
"What do you want?" she asked "To keep other vampires from settling in Forks." Gal said to what seemed like herself. She could still smell Tori's trail. "The people and this land are under very heavy protection. "
Gal could feel others in the woods watching. "This place is not safe for vampires."
A large redish brown wolf stay back. Watching the scene unfold. The pack would probably already be at Emily's by now. They could not resist her cooking.
It was Sam who picked up on the vampires' scent. Jacob was the first to volunteer to check it out. Even though Sam protested it. Jacob insisted. It had been all too soon since Jacob had fully recovered from having all his bones scattered. And even with the fast healing of their kind, Sam was still not sure.
Jacob could feel, as one by one the others phased back to their human form. Until his head was filled with silence.
"That's all this place needs is more blood suckers." He woundered if they had left some of Victoria's army alive. After listening he could tell he was wrong. The red haired one seemed to be investigating the other. Talking about how protected this place was. Did she know? Wasn't she also a leach? Was they friends of the Cullens? Too many question, that he had to have the answers to.
"I can take care of myself" Tori said, her face was calm and showed no sign of emotion. She could sense other nearby, she doubted they were human.
"Now, if you don't mind, I'll be leaving. And you will be ok with that" she said in a stern voice, she turned on her heel, walking away from Galuwen.
Gal moved quickly stoping just in front of her. "Just answer me one question? When you hunt , what do you hunt for?"
Gal breathed in deeply. She knew without a dought who was watching. Pretending not to notice, she waited for the only answer she had been waiting for this whole day.
"Animals" Tori said, she didn't like the situation. If more were-wolves came...
"Fine you can go. But I know we will meet again." Gal said as she extended a hand towards the open woods. She belived her for now.
A growel escape his hips. How could this be happing two unknown vamps.
The red haired vampire seemed to be letting the other go. The wolf moved closer untill the smell burned his nose. Searching for answers, his eyes every watchful.
He could take both of them. And he needed a good fight. At least it would scare them into telling him the truth.
Falling in line directly behind the red head. His paws hit heavly on the ground as he stepped out of the shadow.
"What do you want, dog?" Tori glared at Jacob.
The redish wolf moved forward, as a low growl escaped his mouth.
Lunging forwad he snapped his large teeth towards the two vampires.
Jacob needed this. A good distraction from his human problems. Just his wolf and two vampires that didn't smell anything like the protected blood suckers. "This should be good,"he thought.
"Move!" Gal screamed as she grabbed Tori by the arm.
"You will stop" Tori said in her hypnotic voice to the wolf. She didn't know if it would work, she didn't have much practice with her power.
The wolf felt the rage flow through him. Rage which was only fueled by the thought that this leach could think she could control him. Leaping in the air, the wolf's jaw's landed on vampire flesh. It took all he had not to vomit from the smell.
Tori snarled as he landed on her. Her vampire senses came in control, she kicked at the wolf's body, hopefully throwing him off.
"What did I do?!" she demanded
"You are a vampire in Forks." Gal seemed to answer for the wolf. Moving quickly out of the way, just as Tori kicked the beast. "I tried to warn you."
"Well I'm staying. And this mutt can't change my mind" Tori shouted at Jacob.
