Well, I never did read the comics or anything, so I wasn't a big fan I'm afraid to say. I have seen both movies and I thought that they were both very well done. The FX were good, and the characters were well drawn out. I especially liked the scenes between Ian McKellan and Patrick Stewart. You've heard of all those things like "who would win in a wizard dual: Gandalf or Dumbledore"? Well anyway, I thought the notion of Gandalf and Captain Picard together quite amusing.
The acting was occasionally a bit static, but overall it was pretty good. The story itself was new and interesting. I thought it was so cool to have a special school for the gifted. I also really liked the way they followed both the teachers and the students, it really helped keep everything in perspective. And Hugh Jackman as wolverine? Mmm.
