Seeinf her hit the floor first, he couldn't leave the controls until they were safley through the jump. "Somebody help!" He screamed as he was helpless to asist her. "Kalene please! help her get her below deck and to saftey." Looking back at the jedi master fight ing with the death machine, he thought for a moment the reached into his compartment and pulled out a long silver cylinder. "Rif, catch!" He yelled as he threw the cylinder at the jedi. Catching it he pushed the button to extend a green stream of energy. Looking back at Sonny with confusion, the pilot said with a smirk, "Sometimes two lightsabers are better than one. Now tear that thing's head off!" He turned to see they had got through the jump with little to no damage and headed below deck to check on her.

rif nodded then turned his attention to the killing machine. with a wicked grin he began whirling both green and purple blades around like a deadly draddle, staggering the droid with cutting blows at numerous angles and places. rif's attack was faster then the droid's processors could keep up and track.
by the time he was finished, the assassin was a collection open metal gashes and hanging flash skin. crossing his arms in front of him so his sabre's grips were under his arms and the blades looked like colored bone extensions of his sholders, he then puffed a small breatha of air towards the soulless thing. it promptly fell into a pile of junk.
he turned his attention to the ladies. kalene appeared to be stunned, but the lounge singer looked worse. gently useing the force to lift her and scooping up kalene, rif made his way to the cramped medi-bay of this ship of jumbled mismatched tech. he injected a stimulate to kalene before hooking up the singer to the autodoc to help her heal from the blaster wound.
he then made his way to the cockpit, "they'll be fine in a bit," he announced sitting in the co-pilots station, "i can fly her if you want to check on her, then me and you got to talk about just where you got this." rif lefted up the lightsabre that sonny tossed him, "a rather long talk."
his eyes still blazed from the g'nort and speaking was not easy. but this pilot was going to tell him just where did he get the lightsabre that his brother once carried in the early days of his jedi life.

"Okay Rif, we'll talk as soon as I check on her and Kalene. Just stay this course and bearhing, and I'll be back in a few." Sonny said as he got up to go check on two women.

Kalene came suddenly awake, with a sore head, looked around to see Xaverri lying on a bed next to her with someone standing next to her. "Who are you?" Kalene demanded, "And what happened to her?"
"On that note what happened to me?" She asked with a little pain in her voice. She tried successfully to stand and saw him staring at her. "I'm a fast healer," She told him. "Where are my two companions?" She asked quietly.
'What has been happening,' Kalene asked herself. 'I remember feeling emotions that weren't my own, from Rif I think.' 'What is wrong with me?' She asked herself as she headed out of the med-bay. "Take good care of her," Kalene warned, looking at Xaverri one last time, "She is very important to a lot of people. They would not be happy if anything worse were to happen to her." "Me being the least of the people on that list," She said as she walked through the med-bay door, "She saved my life more times than I care to count."

"Okay let me tell you." Sonny said as he followed her out of the med bay. "No. there's too much, let me sum up." Pointing at the remnants of the Vash-like killer droid, he began. "He was a killer droid, began shootin' up the place, Xaveri got hit, you got hit, I made the jump, Rif went all jedi on the droid and reduced it to the pile of rubble on the floor before you." Smiling he said "Does that explain everything?" Turning back to the med bay door, he said "Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to check on Xaveri."

(Sorry for not replying sooner. It was a busy Spring and Summer and I didn't have enough time to give it the attention it deserved. Things have settled down now so I should be more active again.)
Kalene listened to his summary then said, "That tells me all I needed to know. Thank you for caring about her," She said as she headed back to the cockpit. 'I need to talk to rif,' She thought, 'he will tell me what has been happening.'
She stepped into the cockpit and sat down so as not to disturb him. "I think we should have a talk and soon," she said very quietly. "I knew I was right to not trust Vash," She told him, "But I am still unsure of you."

rif did not take his eyes off his controls, "you are unsure of me?" he half growled under his breath. the g'nort was fading out of his blood, but he stilled seemed more animal then man.
"of all the people on this ship, you can trust me like you did my brother," he tapped his for head, "everything he knew and and felt is here," then looked at her with a look that reminded her too much of the dead man and tapped his heart "and here"

"You're right, I know," She replied, "It's just that I trusted very few people after your brother." She vowed to try to get over not trusting people, but she knew it would be hard. "I think the reason I am unsure of you is that you are quite a bit like him. He had to make me trust him." She said quietly. She smiled at the memory, remembering the hard time he had gaining her trust.
"As I told you earlier," She said softly, "I trust very few people but I will try to break that habit, at least with certain people." "My instincts are usually pretty good about whether or not I can trust someone," she told him, "But around you I get no clear sense either way."
"It was the same way with your brother." She said in apology. "So I hope that you can be patient with me a little bit longer." "I vow to you that I will try to get better." She said and hoped he would forgive her lack of trust now that she had explained.

Sitting down next Xaveri, Sonny held her hand and said " Hey kiddo, come back to me. " Looking out the window he noticed the stars and smiled as he felt her squeeze his hand. He looked back to her and smiled as she began to open her eyes.

more human looking as each minute passes, rif turned to face her for the first time, "you said dor had spoke of me. well he also spoke of you, quite a bit truth be told. the more he told me of the 'spunky jedi human that would put herself in impossible situations and never ask for help'. the more i felt as if i knew you myself." he returned his gaze to the controls, adjusting something before continuing, "in short time i grew to care for you as much as he did, and when he died i swore two oaths. one to take revenge on his killer and the other to show you what he would never tell you."
rif's voice lost its hard edge for a moment and for a moment kalene could see into his soul if she wanted as he said,"i understand you better then you know and i will do exactly what dor did to prove his trustworthyness. i will show you."
resuming his normal speech "you say we had many things to discuss. what is the next thing you wish to talk about?"

"That sounds like him," Kalene said with laughter in her voice. "He was always helping me out of situations I had gotten into." She was watching him and suddenly got a glimpse of he and his brother together.
She thought she could hear dor telling her to trust rif and then suddenly it was gone. "Very well," she said, "I will trust you." "Where are we headed?" she asked him softly.
"I need your help," She told him, "I am unsure of how to proceed now that the Enemy seems to know about our plans." "Will you help me?" She asked him with frustration in her voice. "How am I supposed to complete this mission without knowing everything?"
"I can understand the reasons that I don't but it is still annoying," She told him. "I hate having to find out things I should have been told. It is like receiving an unwelcome gift."

"unwelcome gifts always brings big surprises" rif said repeating an old saying from his people, one that dor used to say all the time. "and you dont have to ever ask for my help."
"and why not turn our enemies advantage into our own," he said with a wicked smile, "dor's plan on Troja seems to apply here."

"Yes, they do," Kalene replied softly, "If I had closed my eyes when you said that I could almost imagine dor was with me still." "I know that I don't have to ask, but I have anyway," she said, "Thank you for saying that you will."
Kalene suddenly saw something that looked familiar to her, a light saber like the one dor had carried when she knew him. "Can I see that lightsaber?" she asked with a tremor in her voice.
"That is a good idea," Kalene said firmly, remembering exactly what that particular plan involved, "I think it may just work for us in this instance." She was glad now that she had finally decided to finally fully trust rif. 'Thank you, dor,' she thought, 'for sending me your brother just when I needed a friend. You are still watching over me, it seems.'

rif watched as kalene picked up dor's old lightsabre and examed it. "yes, it is," he answered her unspoken question. "it was thought lost for years," he said looking at her and it, "on the same mission that you two first meet. it was made by kangos dex, our father and master weapons builder for the jedi. this mark proves it" he pointed to a raised marking on the sabre's hilt. as he continued he traced the symbol to show what he was saying, "this was the crest of the kangos house, and the sign of a jedi master here, and dor's personnal crest that would follow him through his bloodline...if he had had one."
"a mystery to solve later though," he said gently reclaiming his brother's blade and putting it in a pouch, "to make our plan work we will need them," nodding to the other two ships passagers.

"Oh yes," Kalene said softly, "dor told me about your father. I wish I could have met him." She watched as he placed his brother's lightsaber in a pouch. "I agree," She told him, "That will have to wait." 'You are still watching out for me and your brother aren't you, dor,' she asked silently.
"I know that we do," Kalene replied softly, "We do need more than just two people for it to work to it's best effect." She sensed happiness from behind her. "I will return shortly," She told rif, "I am going to check on my friend Xaverri."
